The background to this work is superb image by a combination of an alley you can find in Japan but combined with the dark and the rain falling, forming puddles. When you look around as water becomes a fiery and passionate red that comes to you to the depths of your heart asking that could have happened to this girl and you're able to change. It is certainly an excellent piece that blends seamlessly used colors (Blue, Red, Black) and skin tone fused with colors, plus light effect since it gives you the feeling of being a night illumined yet I transmitted a dark background while beautiful, undoubtedly a work of art.

:icondying-revenge:
The vibrancy of the red provides a great extra burst of both color and emotion. Even though the blue and black are still subtle yet strong, the red does not overpower the image either. The dripping affect is also quite interesting. I do have a slight gripe about the drip affect not affecting the character as much as it does the background (inconsistency of the image), but I feel that was on purpose for the sake of truly making the character the absolute focus of the image.

There is a definitely a story told through the image. The characters expression, pose, and interesting iris color help create the story, and that is something I always look for in an image.

I don't get why you didn't mention to all the people that the background is not yours, and there isn't much done here lol.

There is the render, light source, metaballs and you did some pen stroking. The rest is not original at all xD

I just wanna note, "credit to the authors of the resources" is not credit, and you're saying you used a resource, but
Rain by AndreeWallin
Nowhere on this person's work say that it is a resource for others to use. You can't just take someone else's art, not give proper credit, and let people think it's yours.

If you want to credit resources, especially from other deviantart artists, you need to make sure you leave a link to the resource itself (many artists also have this as a rule that they be mentioned and/or a link to the resource you are using is present).

You literally did like, nothing to the original lol. Taking a piece of art and making it original is one thing, but you took a stock, changed some colors and added a tiny bit of light lol. How about you LINK the author so THEY get the credit for this? Or are you afraid they might not be happy with the like, null amount of editing you did to THEIR work of art :)?

Everyone's got to start from something, and the amount to which she chooses or not to edit that something is entirely up to her, and shouldn't be seen as laziness or lack of skill, but as artist's choice. She has something in mind, and that's what it was. She shouldn't be obliged to edit stuff to no end just to make people like you happy. And that having been said, as she already did say, the work is thoroughly edited. "Changed some colours, added a tiny bit of light". You do realise what it is that we do here, right? You just described about four hours of work if not more.
Anyway, congratulations on the beautiful work Yugata! Don't worry about haters, they become inevitable at some point or other!

You realize it's still a simple edit. I have been using photoshop for 10+ years lol.

Taking a soft brush, editing some hues and adding some small effects would not constitute any typical artist to NOT give credit to the ORIGINAL author of the piece lol.

Did you miss that bit or no. That's the issue I brought up. If you want to quick edit some stuff, cool. But credit the ACTUAL author who spent DAYS or WEEKS making this from scratch. Lol.

Four hours of work or not doesn't even compute or compare to the work the original author did. It's selfish, and kinda sad to see she got this much view-ability on a simple edit and didn't even think "OH. I should probably credit the original art".

Wanna know what that's called? Since DA effectively copyrights all original material made by an artist, it would be thus called copyright infringement.

Your right, the amount of work she does IS up to her. But it's also her responsibility as an artist to give credit where credit is due. Pretty simple thought process actually.

It's sad to see when people say a 'Rip off' to this master piece. People, please. This is called editing. Also, she did mention, ''Credits to the authors of the resources~'' which means that she does respect the original owners of the art. Think before you type gee ;o

Also,
